    About Fortitude Foundation

Fortitude Foundation is a peer-led triage organisation for entrepreneurs in crisis. It helps founders who are facing business failure, financial collapse, or the brutal isolation that comes with losing everything to stabilise, recover, and rebuild.

The Foundation operates on a single principle: the people best equipped to help a founder in crisis are other founders who have already walked that path.

Fortitude is not a mental health charity, a counselling service, or a helpline. It provides practical, action-focused support through a structured three-phase model (Stabilise, Recover, Rebuild) delivered by experienced entrepreneurs who have survived crisis themselves.

Fortitude Foundation is a philanthropic organisation currently going through the process of registering as a charity. It is launching now and inviting entrepreneurs and supporters to register at FortitudeFoundation.com.

    The Problem

Over 25,000 companies enter insolvency proceedings in the UK every year. Behind every one of those numbers is a founder, and for most of them, there is no support system, no safety net, and no one who understands what they are going through.

When a business fails, employees receive redundancy support. Creditors have legal processes. The founder gets nothing. No infrastructure exists for the person who built it, ran it, and lost it.

General mental health services are not designed for the specific realities of entrepreneurial failure: the legal complexity of insolvency, the personal financial devastation, the guilt of affecting employees and creditors, and the total identity collapse that follows when the business that defined you ceases to exist.

Fortitude Foundation exists to fill that gap.

    Founder Bio

Ross Williams is the founder of Fortitude Foundation, a peer-led triage organisation for entrepreneurs in crisis. He previously built Venntro Media Group (White Label Dating) over 21 years into a business generating nearly $50 million in annual revenue with close to 200 employees, entirely bootstrapped with zero external investment. He was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year and IoD Young Director of the Year, and appeared on the Sunday Times Fast Track, Profit Track, and International Track multiple times. In August 2024, Venntro was placed into administration. Ross lost his savings, went months without income, and experienced the total isolation that Fortitude Foundation was created to address.

    Quotes Available for Use

The following quotes are approved for editorial use and may be attributed to Ross Williams, Founder of Fortitude Foundation.

    On the isolation

“When your business goes into administration, the phone stops ringing. The people you thought were your network disappear. You go from employing 200 people and running a $50 million business to sitting alone in a room wondering what the hell just happened. And nobody, nobody, is coming to help.”

    On the support gap

“I looked for help and there was nothing. Not nothing as in the waiting list was long. Nothing as in it simply didn’t exist. There is no infrastructure for a founder whose world has just imploded.”

    On what founders actually need

“When I was going through it, I didn’t need a therapist. I needed someone who had been where I was. Someone who could tell me what to expect, what to do next, and that I wasn’t losing my mind. That person didn’t exist. So I’m building that for every founder who comes after me.”

    On the identity crisis

“When you lose your business, you don’t just lose your income. You lose your identity. You lose your purpose. You lose the structure that your entire life was built around. Fortitude Foundation exists because nobody should have to face that alone.”

    On why peer support works

“Founders don’t need sympathy. They need someone who’s been there, who can look them in the eye and say: I know exactly what you’re going through, and here’s how you get through this.”

    On the personal cost

“I personally injected my remaining savings into the business in its final months. My wife used her savings to cover the last payroll. By the time the administrators were called in, we had been financially wiped out.”

    On the culture of silence

“Entrepreneurship is celebrated when you’re winning. Awards dinners, conference stages, magazine covers. But when it falls apart, you’re on your own. People who called you a visionary six months ago won’t return your calls.”
